Hey there,
My name is Matt Capehart Long!
I was born and raised in Beautiful Boone, NC. I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2000 with a degree in Construction Technology. After graduation, I moved to Charlotte, NC, to begin a career in Commercial Construction. After 7 years in the commercial contracting world, I was given the opportunity to move back to the High Country to project manage a large development in Ashe County. Along with this journey I became a LEED AP Certified NC BuilderAs projects did in those years, the development came to a halt in 2008, and I shifted gears to open a General Contracting Company with a long-time friend.
From new construction and remodels to commercial build-outs, my company grew steadily over the next 15 years. Although I enjoyed the growth, learning, and wide variety of opportunities, my growing family and desire to be on-site rather than sitting at a desk pushed me to make the decision to create a smaller, more hands-on company.
In 2021, Capehart Construction was born.
Capehart Construction and I were both “ Born in Boone” but we serves all areas of the High Country.
Presently, I love living in downtown Boone with my incredible wife, Sarah, owner of 828 Real Estate, and our two awesome kids, Sadie Rose and Levi, plus their pretty perfect pooch, Emmie Lou.
